Region 1 Behavioral Health Board (R1BHB) Funding Application Guidelines
Thank you for your interest in applying for funding from the Region 1 Behavioral Health Board. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, but please note that funding availability may fluctuate throughout the year.
To ensure your proposal receives full consideration, please follow these guidelines:

Stay within the application space provided - Keep responses concise and relevant

Include measurable outcomes and a detailed, itemized budget

Align your request with the Board’s Mission and Vision Statement

Utilize approved funds within the fiscal year of approval and, ideally, within 30 days of receiving grant funding

Allow up to eight weeks for a decision before inquiring about your application status
Funding Availability - Per Idaho Statute 39.3135, R1BHB funds may support:

Community consultation and education
-
Housing assistance that helps individuals with behavioral health disorders remain in the community and avoid institutionalization

Employment opportunities that support independent living for individuals with behavioral health disorders

Evidence-based prevention activities that reduce the impact of mental illness and substance use disorders
-
Supportive services such as peer-run drop-in centers, support groups, transportation, and family support services
Examples of Eligible Funding Requests
✔ Educational or promotional materials (print, digital, etc.) for behavioral health initiatives
✔ Speaker or event costs related to community behavioral health education
✔ Rental or purchase of space/equipment for educational events
✔ Transportation costs for individuals in crisis, treatment, or recovery
✔ Sponsorships for organizations promoting behavioral health or recovery support (R1BHB must receive sponsorship recognition)
Examples of Ineligible Funding Requests
✘ Auction or raffle items
✘ Food, decorations, or marketing for social events
✘ Payments made directly to individuals
✘ Prize money or winnings
✘ General education scholarships
Payment & Reimbursement Information

R1BHB may purchase approved items on your behalf or reimburse you for purchases but cannot directly pay invoices.

Receipts, invoices, and a signed W-9 form are required before any payment is issued.

All invoices and purchases must be submitted within 30 days of funding approval. If no request or notification is made within that timeframe, the funds will be returned to R1BHB’s general budget.
